Mercury stepped into Cancer last week; and gave us all a chance to dip our toes into a new way to look at our lives, especially our homes, property, families and/or our more esoteric ideas. Mercury’s dip back into Gemini will enable us all to backtrack; to pick up threads we left by the wayside, or to attend to communications we need to reconsider; plus the chance to review and improve our relationships in general.
The upcoming Mercury retrograde phase, which begins at the weekend, can also be great for getting in touch with your intuition. Travel, short trips and neighbourly interactions will appeal and some of us may also revisit old haunts over the next few weeks.
Mercury will be retrograde until July 1. Mercury will step back into Cancer once again on July 13. Avoid making intricate or long-ranging decisions while Mercury is retrograde, unless you’re happy to renegotiate at a later date and therefore to keep things open and flexible for now.
If you have prominent Gemini or Cancer in your astrological birth chart, you may find that this Mercury retrograde period makes communications a little more difficult, be this due to computer problems or transport delays, for example. It’s certainly always a good time during Mercury retrograde periods to ensure your computer is backed up, and that your vehicle has enough oil/water, etc, as Mercury retrograde phases can be associated with technology fails and travel snarls.
he best way to approach a Mercury retrograde phase is to see it as the chance to revise, reconsider and to revisit thorny issues, in the spirit of finding a better way forwards once Mercury begins to move forwards once more (early July). It’s a bit like swimming in the ocean and waiting for the right wave to get back to shore; or like being in a holding pattern on a plane, waiting for your turn to land. Patience may be a virtue, after all!
Mercury will go retrograde on Saturday, June 7 at 11h57m GMT; and at 20h57m AEST.
