Two notable and visible planetary alignments really are putting the icing on the cake right now – and these alignments can foster growth, helping you to break out of a stalemate or a rut, to make decisions, and to progress. And, if uncertainties are prevalent in your life right now, the successful option will be to take practical steps forward, even if only mini-steps are feasible right now... Then the bigger picture will begin to take shape. Saturn is aligning with Mars today; and Jupiter and Mercury are in the mix too; look to the western horizon after the sunset and on a clear evening, you will see these bright lights all too clearly, although Mercury, always so hot on the heels of the Sun, may be less visible at this time. And don’t forget: make a wish, but be careful what you wish for, as it will surely come true. Saturn conjunct Mars, August 24, 11h26m GMT; 21h26m AEST. |

![]() Tomorrow’s Aquarian Full Moon is already true to its sign: there is an element of the unexpected and the unusual about this Full Moon; some astrologers have called it an eclipse, and online, it’s called an ‘Almost eclipse’….So will it be a lunar eclipse or not? No, there will not be a lunar eclipse (when the shadow of the Earth passes over the Moon), as the Moon will pass outside the Earth’s penumbra (its outer shadow), narrowly missing it. But if you love eclipses, stay tuned; there will be eclipses in September… Meanwhile, this Aquarian Full Moon signals a time to broaden your knowledge and understanding – in whatever field you most wish to gain a deeper understanding; from spirituality and more mundane everyday matters; to relationships, and yourself. It’s a Full Moon that will shine a light not only on your self-awareness, but also on your awareness of the world around you. This is an inspiring time; a revelation may even occur. The angles between the Moon, Sun and Uranus (the ruler of Aquarius) will accelerate the possibility for some form of awakening or enlightenment, for an unusual, out-of-the-ordinary or unexpected development. Look for new ventures and ideas; this is a time of innovation, but one that also asks that you be discerning about how you act on the information you receive; and precise about the information you give. Happy Full Moon! Astro data: Aquarian Full Moon, August 18, 09h27m GMT; 19h27m AEST. ![]() The Mercury alignment with the Moon's North Node and today's Mercury-Pluto trine (120-degree angle) signify key meetings and news that will bring you together with like-minded people. You'll enjoy gaining the opportunity to deepen your understanding of each other. A key project or development really can progress under these astrological influences, so take the initiative and set the ball rolling, especially with travel, written work, communications, publishing and personal development. However, Mercury is also known as the 'trickster' of planetary influences, so beware of tricky negotiations and people who may have self-interest at the top of their agenda. Chiron's alignment opposite Jupiter at the weekend will put various agendas in perspective. This can be a truly healing time, but vulnerabilities and sensitivities may also come to the fore. Avoid: taking backwards steps just because you feel under pressure; wait until after the weekend if possible to make serious decisions, when Saturn will end its retrograde phase and constructive, practical steps can be taken once more next week.
